1.
Blowing on embers of my very last December Dripping with sarcasm, I run through the night I can't get rested in this empty pit of a town I feel I've always been in this cramped up space I can't see the path of bliss through my ignorance It burns and tears my hands and my feet I find comfort in the elders' wisdom And calmly sip the last of my tea It's imported from China

Towering shadows of faded heroes Double parked criminals lurking inside Ancient spirits hunger for the new As neon and chrome shatter their pride No horses, no fences, no battles, no pain No soft and patient women to stifle the rain Stroll through nostalgia and swipe a reflection Of lingering hopes and false history The panic and blood of a thousand Sioux warriors Cannot wash away the lies and intrigue No horses, no fences, no battles, no pain No soft and patient women to stifle the rain No circles of powder in the shape of your dreams No chance to recapture all of the things

about

In the late 1990's, we wrote and recorded a handful of songs with our friend Libbie Higgins. You may know her from her stand up comedy, podcasts, and viral videos. She took time out of touring the nation making people laugh to re-record fresh versions of some of those songs with us.

Check her out at linktr.ee/LibbieHiggins and hear more of her music at tinyurl.com/libbiehiggins.

about

Mayhem Lettuce Port Byron, Illinois

Mayhem Lettuce was formed in Port Byron, IL in 1993 when two sad teenage boys decided to channel their angst into music.
That music sits at the crossroads of King Missile and Portishead with a dash of The Cure and a pinch of They Might Be Giants.
