Sin & Tonic 02:09
Full of mischief and magic, my smile seems so tragic As I blaspheme away this December day And I know that my panic to you seems quite manic But these antics are how I deal with dismay If I drank, I'd be wasted I feel like I've tasted The essence of hatred and pain But I ain't got no gin or a bottle of sin So I walk home again in the rain We're double crossed lovers We're April fools We're cold under covers We forget the rules You always say we're living parallel lives But parallel lines never meet So turn off the radio, turn off the lights And for Christ's sake turn up the heat If I drank, I'd be wasted I feel like I've tasted The essence of hatred and pain But I ain't got no gin or a bottle of sin So I walk home again in the rain We're double crossed lovers We're April fools We're cold under covers We forget the rules
2.
I can't stand alone and when I topple to mother's earth I think on my way down that it should be your arms not clover that eases my fall But the fall from grace ain't too far from home or am I being pretentious? Borrowed egocentrism from my leopard-skinned girl Am I assigning attributes based on biased midnight testimony? Can I resist the destined tag-names? Could I strive to be less than you imagine? I can't stand the sight of you not being here And when I avert my gaze the absence grows ever fonder of my heart Teeth sink in synch with my fall I feed the myth that bites me
3.
Lobotoyou Lobotomy Obscure it all so I can't see Lobotoyou Lobotomy Loosen my leash so I think I'm free I've been looking so long at these pictures of eulogies Eucharist Euthanasia You know what I mean Pictures of royalty Pictures of lies Pictures of kisses and of goodbyes Slow-dancing with the cutlery Waltzing with knives Struggling in vain To open my eyes Lobotoyou Lobotomy Obscure it all so I can't see Lobotoyou Lobotomy Loosen my leash so I think I'm free I've been looking so long at these pictures of Europe Eunuchs Eucalyptus leaves You know the rest Pictures of promises Pictures of age Pictures of pretty birds trapped in a cage A puppet show for our amusement Another movie about death and rape Everyone pushes secret buttons To elect another ape Lobotoyou Lobotomy Obscure it all so I can't see Lobotoyou Lobotomy Loosen my leash so I think I'm free

about

Sin & Tonic contains a trio of new & improved versions of unreleased songs from the dawn of Mayhem Lettuce, along with the original flavored demo recordings featuring that great 90's lo-fi taste you love! The original versions were built around pre-programmed rhythms and demonstration melodies in our keyboards. They've long been favorites of ours and now we've re-created them using our own instruments!

about

Mayhem Lettuce Port Byron, Illinois

Mayhem Lettuce was formed in Port Byron, IL in 1993 when two sad teenage boys decided to channel their angst into music.
That music sits at the crossroads of King Missile and Portishead with a dash of The Cure and a pinch of They Might Be Giants.
